Return-to-Ship Guarantee & Missed Departure Policy

Your ship's departure time comes first. We understand that returning to your cruise ship on time is the most important part of any shore excursion, that's why every tour with Vietnam Shore Excursions is planned, operated and monitored around your ship's schedule.

1.5+ Hours

Safety buffer built into every return-to-port schedule before your ship's departure.

Cruise‑Specialist

Every itinerary is planned around cruise timetables, not general sightseeing schedules.

Vietnam Local Team

Licensed guides, professional drivers and an operations desk coordinating your day, port to port.

Clear Policy

Our responsibilities and yours are both written down plainly, with nothing hidden in fine print.

How We Plan

We Plan Your Day Backward From Your Ship's Departure

Most Vietnam shore excurions are planned forward: port, then sightseeing, then a return trip. We plan in the opposite direction, starting from the moment your ship needs to leave, then building everything else around it.

How We Plan Your Shore Excursions

Starting Point

Ship's Scheduled Departure

Every plan begins with your ship's all-aboard and departure time for that call.

Planning Principle

1.5+ Hour Safety Buffer

We work backward from departure to fix a return time at least 90 minutes earlier.

Locked Milestone

Return to Port

The vehicle's arrival back at the port is treated as a fixed commitment, not a rough estimate.

Working Backward

Final Transfer & Driving Time

Realistic driving time and known traffic patterns are subtracted from the return time.

Working Backward

Sightseeing & Local Experience

Only the time genuinely left over is allocated to sightseeing, culture and cuisine.

Working Backward

Lunch / Local Experience

Meal stops are sized to the time available, never left open-ended.

Day Begins

Pickup at Port

Your day ashore starts once the entire return journey has already been accounted for.

What Goes Into the Plan

Before a single itinerary is confirmed, our operations team reviews:

  • Your ship's scheduled departure and all-aboard time
  • Port entry logistics and security procedures
  • Realistic driving time and known traffic conditions
  • Sightseeing duration and meal time
  • Vehicle availability and route planning
  • A sufficient buffer for the unexpected

Only once all of this fits comfortably does the itinerary go ahead as planned.

The Core of the Guarantee

Back-to-Ship Guarantee with a Minimum 1.5-Hour Safety Buffer

Our tour planning, scheduling and operations are specifically designed to ensure guests return to the port with a safety buffer of at least 1.5 hours before the ship's scheduled departure. Cruise passengers should never be relying on arriving at the port only minutes before sailing.

Minutes of Buffer

Rushed, Last-Minute Port Arrivals by Design

The safety buffer is part of our operational planning philosophy. It significantly reduces risk - it does not mean the ship will wait, and it does not remove every variable outside our control.

Smart Itinerary Management

Your Safety Goes Along With the Perfect Itinerary

A perfect itinerary isn’t just about where you go or what you do, it’s also about feeling safe and prepared along the way. When thoughtful planning goes hand in hand with safety, you can enjoy every destination with greater confidence, without having to compromise on the experiences that make your trip memorable.
