Back-to-Ship Guarantee
We track your vessel's schedule and build sufficient buffer into every shore tour itinerary. Getting you back on board, on time, comes before any extra stop.
Good to know: Tien Sa Port was originally a cargo terminal, later upgraded for cruise vessels up to 75,000 GRT. Chan May Port, about halfway between Hue and Da Nang, is a deep-water port built for much larger ships, including Royal Caribbean, Princess and Celebrity vessels. We confirm your ship's specific docking arrangement before planning your day.
Tien Sa Port has a customs checkpoint and a passenger reception area, but it isn't a dedicated cruise terminal. taxis wait outside, and you may need to walk a short distance beyond the terminal just to flag one down. An organized pickup skips that step entirely: your driver waits right at the port entrance with a name sign, ready to go.
At Chan May, the story is similar but the stakes are higher given the longer drive ahead. Knowing your guide and vehicle are exactly where they said they'd be matters even more when there's 1.5 to 2 hours of driving between you and Da Nang.

Da Nang · Destination Guide
While Da Nang itself boasts clean beaches, modern infrastructure, and a dynamic urban vibe, its real appeal lies in the surrounding attractions that are easily accessible within short drives. From majestic mountains to sacred temples and cultural relics, here’s a detailed guide to the top places to include in your Danang cruise excursions.
Here are some of the must-see attractions and activities for visitors on Da Nang shore excursions.
No itinerary for Danang shore excursions is complete without a trip to Ba Na Hills, an otherworldly mountain resort located about 35 kilometers southwest of the city center. The highlight of this destination is the Golden Bridge, an architectural masterpiece held aloft by two giant stone hands, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding forested hills. Visitors can reach Ba Na Hills via one of the world’s longest and highest cable cars, gliding over lush landscapes and clouds.
In addition to the Golden Bridge, Ba Na Hills features a whimsical French Village, beautiful gardens, Buddhist temples, and family-friendly attractions like Fantasy Park. Thanks to its cool climate and diverse offerings, Ba Na Hills provides a refreshing escape from the city’s heat.
One of the most iconic landmarks included in Da Nang shore excursions is the Dragon Bridge. This impressive piece of modern architecture stretches across the Han River and is designed to resemble a majestic dragon, a symbol of power and prosperity in Vietnamese culture. Visitors especially enjoy the weekend evening shows, when the dragon breathes fire and water in a dramatic spectacle.
My Khe Beach, often cited as one of the most beautiful beaches in Asia, is a serene and scenic stop on many Da Nang shore excursions. With its powdery white sand, gentle waves, and turquoise waters, this beach is ideal for swimming, sunbathing, or simply relaxing under the tropical sun. The beach is well-maintained and features nearby restaurants and cafes, making it a convenient spot for a leisurely break during a shore tour.
For history lovers, My Son Sanctuary is a must-visit destination on Da Nang cruise excursions. This UNESCO World Heritage Site was once the spiritual center of the Champa Kingdom and features dozens of ancient Hindu temples and towers built between the 4th and 13th centuries. The architecture, constructed mainly from red brick and sandstone, reflects the artistic and religious significance of the time.
Exploring the site with a knowledgeable guide adds context to the carvings and layout of the temple complex. It’s a fascinating excursion that helps cruise visitors understand more about Vietnam’s pre-colonial civilizations, making it a culturally rich inclusion in any Da Nang private shore tour.
A few more stops that regularly round out a well-paced Da Nang shore excursion.
Also called Monkey Mountain. This forested peninsula is home to a 67-meter Lady Buddha statue overlooking the East Sea, scenic lookout points, and rare endangered red-shanked douc langurs.
One of Vietnam's most scenic mountain roads, with ocean views, rugged cliffs, and stops at old military bunkers. This pass is often included on excursions heading toward Hue.
Five marble and limestone hills representing the five elements, with pagodas, hidden caves and viewpoints reached by stone steps or elevator, including the incense-filled Huyen Khong Cave.
Central Vietnamese Cuisine
One of the most rewarding experiences during your Da Nang shore excursions is discovering the city’s rich and flavorful local cuisine. Da Nang is a paradise for food lovers eager to explore authentic flavors right from the port.
Golden turmeric noodles are layered with shrimp, pork, quail eggs, and toasted peanuts, all lightly soaked in a fragrant broth that’s more of a rich sauce than a soup. Fresh herbs, rice crackers, and a squeeze of lime add a final burst of flavor and texture. It’s a delicious way to start your Da Nang shore excursions, capturing the essence of the region in every bite.
This dish features thin slices of tender boiled pork, neatly wrapped with soft rice paper, crisp vegetables, and fragrant herbs. The magic lies in the dipping sauce. This is a savory-sweet blend of anchovy essence, chili, and garlic that ties all the textures together.
The golden, crispy crepe, which is made from rice flour and coconut milk, is folded over shrimp, pork, and bean sprouts, creating a fragrant blend of textures and aromas. Each pancake is then cut into small pieces, wrapped in rice paper with herbs, and dipped in tangy fish sauce for the perfect bite.

Beyond its stunning beaches and modern skyline, Da Nang’s true beauty lies in its people and culture. Every smile, every bowl of noodles, and every festival reflects the city’s warmth and authenticity.
Da Nang locals are known for their kindness and honesty, and life here moves at a gentler pace than Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi. Even with limited English, residents are often eager to help travelers find their way. Deep-rooted traditions remain very much alive alongside the city's fast development. Tet, the Mid-Autumn Festival and Vu Lan are celebrated with offerings, flowers and lanterns each year.
The region's connection to the ancient Champa civilization (4th - 13th century) runs through the Cham Sculpture Museum's sandstone carvings, while spiritual life continues at pagodas and shrines across the city.
