Explore the world of Central Vietnamese cuisine with the help of your expert chef in this Hoi An excursion from Tien Sa cruise port. Learn how to prepare some local specialties, such as Quang Noodle, Cao Lau Noodle, chicken rice, Hoi An crepe and White Rose dumplings, in the most authentic way. There’s no better way to learn about Vietnamese culture like a hands-on cooking class!

Be picked up by our driver and tour guide at the port entrance gate. Your Hoi An & Da Nang shore excursion begins with a 45-minute drive on a comfortable air-conditioned private van to Hoi An town. Follow your knowledgeable guide to Vy’s Market Restaurant to start your cooking lesson.

Upon arrival, travel by local boat to explore the Hoi An market and discover the fresh ingredients, herbs, spices, and local produce that form the foundation of Vietnamese cuisine. Your guide and cooking instructor will introduce you to the distinctive ingredients and culinary traditions of Central Vietnam.

Return to the cooking venue and begin your hands-on cooking class. Try your hands at cutting noodles, making rice paper or using the bun noodle machine, and sample your humble creations afterward. You will also receive a copy of recipes and a set of Vietnamese cooking utensils to bring home. The cooking lesson runs about 2.5 hours.

After lunch in the class, we will continue into the heart of the city for a walking tour. You will pass by various historical landmarks that reflect Hoi An’s indigenous and foreign influences, such as the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Pottery Museum, Tan Ky old house, the Cantonese Congregation, silk street, Chinese temples, and pagodas. As the sun goes down in this quaint old town, you’ll be transported to Tien Sa Port or Chan May port in good time for your cruise departure.
